Our Planning and Design services are coordinated from the start, since layout, massing, and code requirements directly impact the design process.
Before any submittals, we:
- Review your local zoning code
- Ensure compliance with setbacks, height limits, floor area ratios, historic preservation rules, and other requirements
- Submit your proposed layout (ADU, addition, garage, etc.) for preliminary review, when available
For the official Planning submission, your project will be reviewed for:
- Front, side, and rear yard setbacks
- Maximum building height and lot coverage
- Architectural compatibility or historic design requirements
- Color and material guidelines (where applicable)
If the Planning Department requests changes, we revise the plans as needed to move the project forward.
